My career in roofing began in 1978, predominately on new build developments. In 1987, although continuing with the new builds, I began to branch out into domestic roofing. This included re-roofs, extensions, repairs and leak investigation. Alongside this, in 2010 I took a Contracts Manager position with a national roofing company, In this role I am responsible for the labour and materials required for various developments in the South East. Disappointing Experience The initial response was quick, but the job description and photos weren't thoroughly reviewed. Although the job was completed, the leak returned within days. Despite attempts, there's been no response to finish the job. We'll now have to pay another company, meaning our initial payment was wasted.

James Butler also trades as CGS Landscapes. He paved my driveway with poor quality slabs in September 2024 blaming the manufacturer and not himself. More broken slabs has been replaced by him 3 times in 6 months. He has refused to respond to my calls. He texted back calling me. STUPID when I texted him to say I will report him to RatedPeople and the authorities. More slabs broke 2 days ago. Sent him the picture. He simply texted back: MOVED TO DEVON NO LONGER WORKING. Please don’t hire James Butler.

James arrived at the agreed time and after going up to survey the chimney produced a detailed plan and quotation and showed me photos.The price was fair and the work was undertaken straight away. We called Scott’s Contractors as we had found a leak in our roof. Patrick arrived and after giving our roof a thorough assessment, he informed us that the job was bigger than we had realised and the roof was in desperate need of repair. Patrick kept us informed of every step in the process and we can’t recommend him and his “A team” highly enough. All of the team were polite and so hard working that they managed to complete the work in a day. The finished results look great and we are now fully waterproof!
