New to Rated People, but a family trade for generations; the Sykes Brothers consists of William and Finlay Sykes, bricklayers following in the footsteps of their father, Tony Sykes, and grandfather, Bill Sykes - both life-long bricklayers and masters of the trade. Being raised around the industry from a young age, we have both had exposure to bricklaying and building from childhood, from our father building our family home, to learning the trade when we were of age. Now, as qualified bricklayers, we have a wide range of construction knowledge and ability that is complimented by our professionalism and no-corners-cut approach to our work. After reaching out on rated people for bricklayers to sort my front garden wall following a car crash, I thankfully came across will Sykes of Sykes brothers. He was refreshing with attention to detail over the choice of bricks,options to fit a budget, timescales and gave me confidence where others didn't. Valley Walling called round promptly and gave a good value quote to re point and tidy and seal the top of the wall. They told me exactly when they would start and finish the job. They kept to the timing and days working to the dot. Before they left they cleaned up using my hose for the stray bits of cement. Would recommend them for all outside building work. William came quickly and arrived on time, and was able to solve the problem promptly. He checked the whole area thoroughly to see if there were any other problems, and made sure we were happy that everything had been resolved. William was polite and easy to work with. Very happy with the service.
I am really please with the qualiy of the work that Andy and his team put into the landscaping of my garden. They listened to what I wanted and offered some useful enhancements. They were always friendly and left things pretty tidy at the end of each day. The additional bits I wanted added to the cost but thats to be expected (it was itemised) and it did improve on the overall apperance of the job. Most days they arrived as schedulled. Overall I am very pleased with the work and would use them again.

On on build are a general building company based in the Nottingham and surrounding areas. We provide various services including underfloor heating and floor sreeeding, bricklaying, driveways, turfing,fencing, patios, roofing and driveway cleaning and resealing. PL insured and cscs cpcs certified. Over the last 3 years i have been working on train sidings refurbishment in manchester and new build house and been on checkatrade, but back on rated people again now.

Andrea and his team were excellent. He is very reliable, efficient and hard working. He made a very challenging job look easy and did some extra things for me that weren’t included in the quote, without charging extra. He got back to me quickly and the whole job took less than 2 weeks from me posting to completion. I would definitely recommend this company and I’m sure I will ask him to do other jobs for me.

Stephen and Damo did an excellent job of removing part of a wall and installing an RSJ. He was quick to send over a quote, was able to fit in the work before Christmas and generally did an excellent job with it all. Dale has done a quality job of our natural stone paving....both the preparation and finishing were high quality. Dale's approach to the work is open, honest and flexible (we changed a couple of things late on...and this was no problem). Already asked Dale to quote for other works....we can't recommend dale highly enough!!

Not worth 5 star rating, in my opinion. Cancelled appointment 30 minutes before due time. Came out twice, first time to take a look, second time to bring sample. Said he would get back to with price with expected start next week. Heard nothing, he finally answered one of my texts saying didn't reply as materials had gone up and the job would cost another £1000. Did not even have the courtesy of letting me decide if it was too much to pay or to choose something less expensive. Very disappointed.
