Had a window and front door fitted by Nation Windows. Overall the experience was good. The new fitting has made such a difference to our hallway. When they came to fit the window and door, Sunny and his fitters immediately put down dust sheets. We found them to do a clean job and were very polite throughout. Karl arrived on time having made a 'phone call to me first. I found him to be very personable and pleasant. He seemed to be more keen to do the job properly than to make a load of money out of it. He voluntarily spent a great deal longer than was originally anticipated and came back the next day with some materials which he had to buy to finish the job off. His conscientiousness was refreshing in these days of people rushing to get to the next job. I'd use him again if the opportunity arises.

Bellhurst Construction gave me a very detailed quote and were able to start the job promptly. Darrel worked with me on adjusting he quote in order to prioritise the things that needed the most attention. We were held up a few days by the weather initially, but once things were underway I was very happy with how things progressed. Main task of laying wood was top class. Reasons for the mixed review: - As part of cost, was promised beading that would colour match the wood, but he turned up with different colour beading and it was left to me to varnish it - door needed to be trimmed because the wooden floor was at a raised height - was cut incorrectly. He promised to return and fix the door and lay a bridge to the carpeted hallway if I paid him in full which I did. Despite me following up, he never returned which I find dishonest.

But, then he did not arrive and I phoned at three times with no answer and no response on Whatsapp since. No explanation why he did not turn up. This company provided a quote without visiting our property. Their quote was 3x our lowest quote and 2x our highest. Not sure why a company 43 miles away would want to quote for a relatively small job. I feel that the reasons for such a high quote was that either: A: they didn’t really want the job B: I would be paying over the odds for their travelling 43 miles. All that said, until I manage to get three quotes for the insurance company, I cannot move forward anyway.

Henri did a first class job. The door was especially tricky as it had to be made in its entirety - not a ready made or standard door, but from panels and blocks of wood - and to look in period. The shelves also had to fit somewhat un-square Victorian alcoves. The finished items are really very good and extremely well made. I would recommend Henri without reservation.
